KOSHA, enhance the international standing of Occupational Safety and health’

KOSHA, nomination as the advisory institute of

‘WHO Collaborating Centre on Occupational Health’

19th March,

 

A Korea occupational safety and health agency (KOSHA) play roles as a representative advisory institute of Asia-Pacific area at the collaborating network on occupational health area conducted by WHO.

 

The KOSHA(President: Baek, Hun-ki) has been nominated as a representative advisory institute of Asia-Pacific area at the WHO Collaborating Centre Committee on Occupational Health in Cancun, Mexico on 16th March(Korean time).

 

'The WHO Collaborating Centre on Occupational Health' is the international network which are participate in 29 countries and 54 institutes and carries out global plan of action to protect and promote workers' health.

 

This Collaborating Center has advisory institutes in 6 countries such as USA and Italy etc., which represent each continent.

In addition, these institutes play parts in an advisory and appraisal in order to promote effectively on action plans of each continent conducted by WHO.

* advisory institutes : Korea(Asia-Pacific area), USA(North America), Italy(South Central Euro.), Finland(North Euro.), Brazil(South America), Republic of South Africa(Africa) etc.

 

In accordance with the fact that KOSHA is nominated as the advisory institute, Collaborating Centre will carry out roles as a advisor regarding action plans on occupational health etc. promoted by Asia-Pacific area.

 

The KOSHA has been nominated and worked as the WHO Collaborating Centre on occupational health since 2008, in the meantime, participated in 6 fields on global plan of action and conducted the fellowship training program and technical assistance etc. on occupational health for developing countries in Asia.

 

- The KOSHA consistently will conduct collaborating centre's activities and expand contribution on international occupational health in accordance with the nomination as the advisory institute of Asia-Pacific area.

The president 'Baek, Hun-ki' of the KOSHA said "The nomination as the advisory institute of Asia-Pacific area has been a outstanding achievement following chair organization by election of ISSA Committee on prevention culture in September last year, KOSHA will further reinforce its position as global cooperator and leader.”
